Kinnusen Mylly’s CEO Aarne Kinnunen retires – Annu Kuure the new CEO from August 1st, 2022
Annu Kuure has been elected as the new CEO of Kinnusen Mylly. Annu Kuure will move to her new position starting on August 1, 2022 from the position of CFO of Kinnusen Mylly, where she has worked since 2007. Annu Kuure has a master’s degree in production economics and before joining Kinnusen Mylly, she worked in product development tasks in the ICT industry.
Aarne Kinnunen, who started his work history at Kinnusen Mylly already in 1987 and has been CEO since 2012, will retire on August 1, 2022. After retirement, Aarne Kinnunen will continue as a member of Kinnusen Mylly’s board and in the role of advisor.
Aarne Kinnunen is happy that the company remains a family business already in the third generation. He proudly recalls the development that has taken place in the company since 1976, when the previous generational change took place and the company was owned by four brothers. “We now have three solid pillars; a wheat mill, a feed factory and, most recently, a pure oat mill that specializes in the production of gluten-free oat products. The company’s new management, led by Annu, can now show its skills and I am convinced that the company will succeed and grow in the future as well.” Aarne is grateful for the fruitful cooperation and the active northern food production chain where he has been able to work for decades.
Annu Kuure takes on the CEO’s duties and the work of continuing the story of the family business with enthusiasm. “Our company has the know-how, the attitude and great foundations. On these bases, it’s good to continue developing the company and offer our customers the best possible food from the pure grain of the north, now and in the future.” As the new CEO, Annu Kuure represents the third generation of the family and thus follows in the footsteps of her grandfather Armi Kinnunen, her father Eero Kinnunen, and her uncle Aarne Kinnunen.
During the spring, the following organizational changes have also taken place in the company. Toni Kuure, who previously worked as production director, has started as procurement and product development director. Riikka Juntunen has started as production manager and Heikki Mustonen has been appointed maintenance manager.
Kinnusen Mylly, which turns 60 this year, has been a family-owned mill processing northern, high-quality grain from the beginning. Today, the company, which processes almost 100 million kilos of grain products annually, consists of three business areas. Kinnusen Mylly’s flour mill processes wheat, rye and barley flour for the needs of professional bakers as well as home bakers. The feed factory produces a wide range of animal feeds for Finnish farms under Kinnusen Tähti-rehut brand. The newest pure oat mill, which started in 2019, specializes in the production of gluten-free 65 Oats pure oat products for the food industry, and these products are not only domestic but also exported to around 30 countries around the world. The company has 45 employees and a turnover of approximately 30 million euros (2021).
